Plasma Fibroblast Skin Tightening

Plasma Fibroblast Skin Tightening Wigan

The Plasma Skin Tightening boasts being one of the only cosmetic procedures in the industry that uses plasma fibroblasts to instantly shrink, tighten and eliminate loose and excess skin. Plasma Skin Tightening is renowned for its remarkable non-surgical, non-invasive treatments such as, but are not limited to, ‘Mummy Tummy’, Eye lifts, Wrinkle Reduction, Skin Tag & Pigmentation Removal, Full Face and Neck Lifts.

These treatments are extremely low risk and hold a minimal recovery time of 5-7 days. The best part is, treatments can be performed in as little as in 30 minutes and are drastically cheaper than any surgical procedure with the guarantee of a similar result if not better.

Results may last up to 2 years, but just like anything else that’s used to treat ageing, the procedure can be re-done annually. Results are usually seen immediately after your first session with a healing time of 5-7 days, however full results are more noticeable in 8-12 weeks after your skin under the epidermis has healed.

How does Plasma Fibroblast work?

The device that is used is FDA approved and a precisely accurate hand held device that works by utilizing the voltage in the air between its tip and the natural gasses emitted from our skin, to form a plasma charge (hence the name plasma skin tightening).

A small electrical charge is created and instantly shrinks the targeted skin. The skin tissue immediately tightens giving you, youthful looking skin.

What areas can be treated with Plasma Fibroblast?
  •     Non-surgical blepharoplasty – skin tightening of saggy upper and lower eyelids
  •     Skin lessons such as skin tags
  •     Unwanted wrinkles – frown lines, crow’s feet, smoker’s lines, neck lines etc
  •     Brown/age/sun spots
  •     Mini face & neck lifts
  •     ‘Mummy tummy’

How long do the results last?

As Fibroblast is more than a simple tightening treatment (skin volume is actually reduced) – the effects should last as long as they would with invasive surgery.  Like all surgical and cosmetic procedures, the effects of fibroblast are not entirely permanent as it does not stop any further ageing. The results can last up to 2 years.

The positive effects of treatment will be noticeable immediately after the first treatment, but the final results will be seen after 8-12 weeks. For some, an additional treatment may be required after 12 weeks for maximum results.  Additionally, there are lifestyle factors that can prevent the result from lasting as long as they can, such as smoking, alcohol consumption and prolonged sun exposure.

What happens on the treatment day?

Please come to your appointment with freshly cleansed skin, that’s it!

Please avoid alcohol 24 hours prior to your appointment.

A numbing cream is applied to the treatment area for 30-45 minutes to help with any discomfort. Once the treatment area is numb, your Fibroblasting session will begin. You may feel some heat in the treatment area, which may be uncomfortable and slightly irritating. Treatment time can take anywhere from 10-40 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated.

Immediately after treatment, the treated area may be red and mildly swollen with small carbon crusts (polka dots). It is common to experience a sensation similar to a sunburn which will likely last a few hours. Swelling may increase over the following few hours after treatment and may continue to do so when treating the eye area and may last 2-3 days thereafter. The carbon crusts will lift and fall off within 5-7 days depending on the individual and the area treated. Results gradually improve over the course of the following 8-12 weeks.

Following your treatment, you will be given aftercare instructions to ensure that you see the best results. It is important to follow these instructions. In the week following treatment (or until the treatment area has fully healed), an exfoliating wash or cleanser should not be used.

Are there any sides effects and risks?

Fibroblast has been shown to be a safe treatment due to its non-invasive nature when done by a fully certified technician. Still the majority of clients are likely to experience some minor side effects in the 5-7 days following treatment.

There will be small carbon crusts (little polka dots) in the treated area that will last 5-7 days before naturally lifting, revealing new skin beneath. Swelling in the eye area is to be expected for a few days following an upper eyelid treatment. To avoid any more serious side effects such as hyperpigmentation, follow the aftercare recommendations given to you by your technician.

Am I a right candidate for the treatment?

  • You should be in good health at the time of the appointment, with no pre-existing health conditions. Signs of the cold and flu will result in rescheduling your appointment.
  • Your skin should not be swollen or inflamed on or around the treatment area.
  • If your skin in prone to keloid scars, this treatment should be avoided.
  • Diabetes, healing disorders or lymphatic draining issues should not undergo the treatment.
  • Sunburn or sun tanning should be avoided. Please avoid tanning 4 weeks prior to treatment.
  • Clients with Hyper-pigmentation / Hypo-pigmentation are not ideal candidates.
  • Treatment cannot be performed if Herpes simplex (cold sores when working in the lip area) is active. It is recommended you consult with their medical doctor and begin taking doctor’s prescribed medication 3 days prior to treatment and 4 days following treatment.
  • Treatment cannot be performed if client wears a pacemaker.
  • Treatment must be avoided if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you wear eyelash extensions, they must be removed prior to treatment if working on eye area.
  • This treatment is only recommended on Fitzpatrick Scale I-III. Please see diagram below.

Fibroblast treatment is not advised for those with very dark skin. This is because there is a higher risk of hyperpigmentation (dark spots) or hypopigmentation (light spots) following the treatment.

What is the aftercare?

Like most skin rejuvenation treatments, there may be some side-effects, but the post-treatment downtime and recovery from Plasma Pen – plus the end result – is frequently shown to be far superior to other treatments such as laser, chemical peels, etc.  However, we are not in control of what you do when you leave and you must follow these important guidelines carefully if you wish to enjoy optimal results and protect your investment in Plasma Pen treatment. Although for most Plasma Pen treatment is virtually pain-free, your own treatment may be moderately uncomfortable and sensitive depending on where you are being treated – especially eyelid procedures where the skin is at its thinnest – and your own sensitivities and tolerances. Your technician will work closely with you on this including providing and/or recommending the best numbing product(s). Our Plasma Pen device and super-fine probes allowing to work quickly and efficiently which will dramatically minimise any potential discomfort for you.

BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT:

  • We recommend you avoid sun-tanning, spray-tanning, tanning injections and sunbeds for 2 to 4 weeks before your treatment. Ideally, you should try to use SPF 50+ to prep your skin for 2 to 4 weeks before your treatment, especially if you are naturally darker skinned.
  • Avoid any other type of procedures on the same area which you intend to have treated with Plasma Pen, such as laser therapy, chemical peels, fillers, as this may prevent your treatment being performed by your technician at the time you want it.
  • Please come to your appointment with freshly cleansed skin.
  • Avoid alcohol 24 hours prior to your appointment

IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING YOUR TREATMENT:

  • You may not look your absolute best during the initial healing process (usually 5 to 7 days).
  • There may be some mild to moderate swelling to the area(s) treated, especially around the eyes.
  • Swelling and inflammation for 1 to 5 days post-treatment is normal, but will usually be of a very minor nature and is to be expected.
  • We recommend all clients to apply Aloe Vera up to three times per day until scabs have formed and then all flaked off. Aloe Vera is a powerful and natural anti-bacterial/anti-viral product. Once applied and left to dry, this gel leaves a protective coating designed to act as a barrier against infection and it helps speed up skin healing. It also provides relief from possible itching and helps expedite a scar free healing process. The alternative of leaving a scab to continually dry out naturally can mean that the healing process takes longer and the longer the healing process then the greater the chance of scarring.
  • If possible, we recommend you take a high dose of Vitamin C supplements over the course of the healing process as this will help give your immune system a big boost. In turn, this helps you to repair and also helps to avoid hyperpigmentation.
  • You may experience a “stinging” sensation in the treated area(s) immediately after treatment. This is normal and is simply the heat exiting the skin.
  • We recommend NOT exercising straight after a treatment, because any heat, steam or sweat could add to the inflammation that’s already present.
  • If the treated area is swollen then you may apply ice packs covered with a clean cloth. Do NOT apply ice directly onto the skin as this will cause damage to the tissue.
  • The area that has been treated must NOT be covered with plasters, occlusive dressing or any type of make-up, mascara, creams or any other product until the area has fully healed.
  • If you have received facial treatment, we recommend you sleep on your back with your head elevated to avoid brushing your face on your pillow. If you have received treatment to your eyes, then it is important you sleep slightly elevated for up to 5 days as this can greatly reduce swelling.

IN THE FOLLOWING DAYS AFTER YOUR TREATMENT:

  • It is normal for the area that has been treated to feel tight and dry.
  • Tiny crusts will quickly form on the treated area. These may be visible for up to about a week (in some cases over a week). Do NOT pick crusts off as this will delay the healing process and could cause pigmentation and/or scarring.
  • The area(s) treated may be cleansed daily with lukewarm boiled water. You are only removing excess oil and do not need to thoroughly cleanse the treated skin. Do NOT be tempted to rub or brush the area to aid the removal of the crusts. Pat dry with a clean tissue.
  • We advise you do NOT stand with your face under a hot shower for the first 3 to 4 days. This could increase swelling. Try to avoid shower gels or hair products running on to your face as this could cause irritation and inflammation. Rinse thoroughly with tepid water if products do come into contact with the area(s) treated and gently pat dry with clean tissue.
  • Absolutely do NOT use any lotions or creams while the crusts still present. The area must be kept free of oil to help the crusts form and then fall off of the skin naturally. Do NOT rub or abrade the area(s) or use exfoliating products. This could result in scarring and/or pigmentation.
  • Men should avoid shaving the treated area until it is fully healed.
  • When the crusts have fallen off then your skin may be a little pink as it is fresh, new and rejuvenated baby skin.
  • Once the crusts have all fallen off, you may apply your normal foundation/make-up, but avoid using skincare products containing acids (glycolic, salicylic, lactic, etc.) or any other active exfoliating ingredients as this will cause irritation.
  • Once the crusts have all fallen off, you absolutely MUST now begin to apply SPF 50+ while your skin is in the healing stages (pink in colour) when you are out and about and you should continue to do so for at least the next 12 weeks (and ideally longer). The area(s) treated have produced brand new skin and may burn /pigment without adequate protection from the sun.
  • You absolutely must NOT use saunas or sunbeds during your 12 weeks healing period and ideally for longer. Avoid the midday sun.
  • All other facial treatments on the same area should be avoided whilst your skin is healing.

OTHER IMPORTANT AFTERCARE ADVICE & TOP TIPS:

  • Avoid smoking.
  • Any additional treatments that may be required must only be performed once the skin is completely healed and has returned back to its normal colour. This usually takes about 8-12 weeks. Plasma Pen treatment is the gift that keeps giving and, on top of the immediate rejuvenation, lifting and tightening effects you will likely experience, it can actually take 8 to 12 weeks for the full effects of your treatment to be seen anyway, so you may not actually require further treatment once the effects of your original treatment are more determinable
  • Please note that if you do require a longer period of time between treatments then the delay will not alter the outcome/results.

Does Plasma Fibroblast treatment hurt?

A numbing cream is applied to the treatment area for 30-45 minutes to help with any discomfort. Once the treatment area is numb, your Fibroblasting session will begin. You may feel some heat in the treatment area, which may be uncomfortable and slightly irritating. Treatment time can take anywhere from 10-40 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated.

How many treatments will I need?

It will vary as each individual is different. Some things that are taken into consideration, is age of the client, your skin’s elasticity, how your skin responds to the procedure, as well as the desired correction to the area.

Most clients will instantly see results and will continue to do so for the following 8-12 weeks. Further treatments can possibly be done to get better results; however, it is highly uncommon to need more than two treatments.
