Scarring

A scar is a mark left on the skin after a wound or injury has healed.

Scars are a natural part of the healing process. Most will fade and become paler over time, although they never completely disappear, they can fade over a period of 2 years. It is unlikely that they will fade any more after this time.

It is well known that inducing collagen production in the skin and resurfacing where the scar tissue lies can reduce a scars appearance.

Newer scars respond better to treatment than older scars, with the best time to treat being once the wound is well healed, but still pink.

We will work with you to form a bespoke treatment package to specifically target your scarring area.

Treating scarring involves a series of following:

Chemical peel or/and LED light therapy can be added to your treatment to enhance further results.

These treatments  stimulate the skin to regenerate itself to soften scars and reduce their appearance.

It takes around 4 – 6 weeks for new collagen to form and the benefits of the treatment to start to be seen. If the scarring is particularly deep, it may require up to 6 months.
